<p> ENGAGING GOSPEL DOCTRINE (EPISODE 150)</p><p>LESSON 24</p><p>“ This Is Life Eternal”</p><p>We are commanded individually to be whole, complete, perfect—but we are Hook also commanded to be “one” with our brothers and sisters, fellow saints. How do we accomplish both? Manual Goal To encourage class members to be receptive to the influence of the Holy Ghost and to draw nearer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. EGD Goal To inspire class members to know and become more like our Heavenly Parents by caring for and loving others as themselves. </p><p>Lesson 24: Unity/Knowing God</p><p>Yay, episode 150!! I asked about “best of Engaging Gospel Doctrine”, but didn’t get much response. Perhaps at episode 200. If we get that far ;) </p><p>I. Sunday School a. The relationship between love and unity (Unity does not mean utter sameness, but rather alignment, being a team, working toward the same goal. b. Review the reading c. Intercessory prayer i. 3 Nephi 19 d. Love e. Unity (the relationship between immature and enmeshed codependence and the coming together of two or more whole, healthy individuals) f. Holy Ghost (redeemed from spiritual death, companionship of a member of the godhead, 2 Ne 32 (humility of deflecting knowledge of self) g. Sanctification h. Knowing God (How do we now God? What is most important to know about God? (I wondering whether God has an appendix, a beard, can survive in the vacuum of space). Most important to know traits, attributes as Joseph Smith said. i. Conclusion I II. Scripture Study a. Return to the Reading b. Yom Kippur and the role of the High Priest 1 III. Study Notes a. Thoughts on the Holy Spirit II b. Jesus as female/mother (?) c. Love, Unity, Sanctification II (talk about how all relationships and group dynamics represent compromise, but we also seek the transcendence of losing ourselves in something bigger) (Link to Haidt) Talk about being in the same boat (this is true down to our cells, key to life, we as humans (as well as insects) function as superorganisms. </p><p>2</p>
