<p> ST ROSE OF LIMA SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION</p><p>1. St. Rose of Lima is proud to offer two $400.00 scholarships to graduating high school seniors. The purpose is to help two qualified students each year, who have spent most of their elementary school years at St. Rose of Lima Catholic School.</p><p>2. This scholarship is to be used at any institution to further the recipient’s education: a two or four year college or university or a vocational school. The award will be for one year and must be used during the designated year. Two recipients may be chosen from the Soap Lake, Quincy, Moses Lake, Ephrata communities or from any other community or area if the application is initiated by the graduating senior.</p><p>3. Any alumnus of St. Rose of Lima School, with a 2.0 high school grade point average or better, may apply. The applicant needs to submit:</p><p>A.) a high school transcript B.) the enclosed application form, completed C.) three letters of recommendation as per application form D.) a written essay outlining future plans (goals) and the financial resources available to meet these goals E.) names and telephone numbers of references the applicant might want us to contact</p><p>An interview may be requested by the scholarship committee, if needed.</p><p>4. The scholarship committee, appointed by the principal, will evaluate each application by measuring it to the following criteria:</p><p>A.) Commitment to God, Christian values and participation in and service to God’s kingdom on earth B.) Good academic history and work ethic C.) Worthy plans (goals) D.) Financial planning to meet these goals (needs) E.) Application Process: timeliness, completeness, and quality of the essay</p><p>5. The committee may, for any given year, award two students, one student or no students. Winners will be presented with “Certificates of Award” at the high school awards assembly, when possible, and these may be redeemed for $400.00 by furnishing the St. Rose of Lima principal with proof that he/she is duly enrolled in the appropriate institutions course of study.
