<p>Author, time period/movement, how does the work impact the movement, or how does the movement impact the work? , style of the work </p><p>For this research paper, your objective is to research how an author’s background and time period impact his or her style in a specific work. You will need to choose an author and one of his or her works to feature in your research. This work will be your primary focus, and you should use the work to prove the literary contribution your author has made. </p><p>This assignment is not a biographical assignment. You may devote one paragraph to the biographical basics (where the author was born, schools attended, etc.); however, this should not be the primary focus of your research. Your primary focus should be the literary contribution your author has made. What was happening in art, music, culture, and politics?</p><p> How does the work help us understand the society of the time? </p><p> How did your work lead to societal reforms? </p><p> Why did the author choose to address a particular event, issue, or aspect in the society of the time? </p><p> How does the work relate to a particular cultural movement (realism, civil rights, etc.)?</p><p> What types of genres and styles were written at the time by other authors? What genres were popular? </p><p> How did the work change the society’s perception of itself?  How did the author’s work play a role in the evolution of the century or decade? </p><p>Text-Specific Questions </p><p> The answers to the following question should not be summary of your work. </p><p> Provide specific examples of your author’s style.
