Dear Friends of Our Journey

May 2011

Dear Friends of Our Journey, Please continue to keep these children in your hearts and prayers; this is a letter and photos from Pastor Ken. This is one of three Our Journey Projects we support in Kenya. OJ also supports community gardens to help supplement these projects. Blessings, Maureen Ahern www.ourjourneyinc.org

On Saturday we had time to minister to the orphans, street and slum children and adults at rhonda slums.it was a day that saw over 100 souls coming to the lord. we also had time to distribute maize flour and cabbages to this lovely people after sharing and eating food together. we had plenty of juice for the children who had fun and good time eating and drinking, playing and also receiving the word of God. Please pray for this months feeding and food distribution program to be held on 28th May 2011. Pray for Gods provision of food stuff as the price of food stuff is sky rocketing in Kenya because of high fuel cost. we were forced to reduce the number of food stuff for distribution on Saturday with some taking home only a cup of maize flour as a result of the high prices which affected our budget. we had street demonstrations in the cause of the week in Kenya over the food prices which his really affecting those already living below the poverty line share our story with anybody with the heart for this little angels who are going through hell for lack of food stuff and other basic needs.we believe by Gods grace we shall be able to hit the streets of our town and the slums with the gospel this month.we are attaching photos of last Saturdays program. These are photos of what we did in Rhonda slums during the feeding program on 3rd of this month of April 2011.we are determined to keep reaching the children in Kenya especially the orphans, street children and other vulnerable children in the slums.

In Kenya nearly 2 million children live in hazardous conditions

-They are poorly fed -Some are misused and work for long hours through child labor -They carry heavy loads -They are isolated and confined -They handle toxic substances e.g at the garbage dumping while some sniff glue or petrol to feel high. -They are economically affected with lack of food stuff ,clothing and shelter -some of them work beyond capacity of age and strength trying to make ends meet -They are emotionally abused -They are sexually abused -They do not go to school -They are deprived of their child hood education The list is endless and we believe the lord will make provision to help us rescue and touch the lives of as many children as we can.please keep praying with us concerning this little angels a forgotten lot of our society. We know that through ministry of the word we will be able to deposit things in their lives that will help shape their lives now and in future Pastor Ken and Mary still going strong
