<p> A DESCRIPTION OF THE EXAMS</p><p>S AT RE AS ON ING TEST A three hour, 35 minute test with multiple-choice questions in Critical Reasoning , Math and W riting with an Essa y . Each section is scored on a scale of 200-800 points making a total possible of 2400. Most colleges and universities require the SAT or ACT (see below) for admission.</p><p>S AT SUBJECT TES TS Exams are offered in a variet y of subjects and are designed to measure specific accomplishment and knowledge in a single field. Most of the exams are multiple choice. Each Subject Test is scored on a scale of 200-800 points. The Universit y of California requires t wo SAT Subject exams which the student may choose from different areas. Some private universities ma y require more.</p><p>PS AT/N MS QT - N ATI ON AL MERIT SCHOL AR SH IP QU AL I FY IN G TEST A short form of the SAT Reasoning Test, it offers students the opportunity to gain experience taking standardized college admissions exams. For eleventh graders, taking this exam may qualify students for the National Merit Scholarship Competition.</p><p>AC T - AM ER IC AN COLLEGE TESTING PROGR AM The exam is divided into four parts: English usage, Mathematics, Social Science Reading, and Natural Sciences Reading. There are five scores for the ACT - one for each of the individual parts and a composite score which is most often used for admission purposes. An additional W riting section is optional and should be taken if appl ying to the Universit y of California. The ACT exam is accepted for admission into any college or universit y.</p><p>AP - AD V AN C ED PL AC EM ENT AP exams are offered in a variet y of subjects. The tests are approximatel y three hours long and combine writ ten, objective and aural selections depending on the subject. The AP examinations are used as measures of college level achievement and are scored on a scale of 1-5. A minimum score of 3 is required to be granted college credit (depending on the individual college).</p><p>5/29/18</p>
