<p>Assignment: Complete one of the options below. The objective for this project is for you to learn new information about the irrational number pi. You are encouraged to be creative and innovative. Some of the projects will be presented on Pi Day. If your project is chosen, you will be in the running for some cool prizes as well as a math extra points. I would like you to incorporate using the IPADs for whichever project you choose. *** You can choose to work individually or in a group (limit 4 people).</p><p>1. Write a Pi poem (if you are working in a group, each person will need to write a poem). For added creativity and points, create motion or dance steps to your poem. Make sure the poem gives at least three facts about the irrational number, pi.</p><p>2. Write a song about pi. Sing your song with music and choreography for added points. Make sure the song gives at least three facts bout the irrational number, pi. </p><p>3. Research the history of pi and present it using PowerPoint, Smart Notes, Prezi, and etc. Don’t forget to include the fraction forms of pi and other approximations. Your sources need to be cited.</p><p>4. Make a cartoon strip with Pi being the main character. Make it large enough to see in front of the class (for example, on poster board or chart paper). Make sure your cartoon strip has at least three facts about pi. Make it come to life with the IPAD.</p><p>5. “The Smell so Good Perfume Company has developed a new unisex fragrance called Pi. The company executives need an ad campaign that will embody the true meaning of Pi, its historical background and capture the attention of their target audience (age 16 to 25). It is your job to create this advertisement. The advertisements can be video commercials, radio (audio), or magazine/newspaper ads. Students are graded on math information, technical stuff (i.e. time limit, editing, etc.), creativity and effort, and references. 6. Create a Pi Game that can be played by a large group (class). The rules must be clear and fair. There must be elements of Pi incorporated into the game.</p><p>7. Visually display the numbers of Pi. This can be done very creatively – just think about it! For example, let each digit of pi be represented by a different color, sound, move, etc. In your presentation, give at least three facts about pi.</p><p>Project Rubric:</p><p>____ It is obvious that research was required to complete this project. There is a sufficient research in order to create the chosen project. (15 points)</p><p>_____ the project chosen is neat, easy to understand, and is from the list of suggested by the teacher (or has been approved). Pi has been defined and explained thoroughly. The research gathered is creatively presented. It is evident that the presenters understand the accurate facts about pi that they have researched. (60 points)</p><p>_____ the presentation is well organized. All participants have a role in the presentation. The presenters are easy to understand and have taken the project seriously.
