<p> EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES MIGRATORY FISH- STATE OF CONNECTICUT</p><p>The State of Connecticut/DEP/ Inland Fisheries Division is seeking candidates to fill five seasonal positions in the Diadromous Fish Program for 2005. The duties vary by position but the workers will be helping biologists restore, manage, and study both anadromous and catadromous fish migrating up and from one stream to another, down Connecticut’s rivers. Pay is monitoring and operating eel traps, typically $10.00 per hour, 35 hours surveying lamprey nests, capturing and handling live adult salmon, operating and maintaining fishways, sampling stream populations using electrofishing, and artificially spawning salmon. To qualify, candidates must be physically fit, possess a clean driving record, able and eager to work outdoors in a a week, for six months. One variety of conditions with and positions begin on March 1, three without direct supervision, and not positions begin on April 15, and one have an aversion to getting wet, positions begin on May 15. People handling fish, and occasionally applying for March and April sacrificing fish. Knowledge of fish positions need to be finished with is a plus but not mandatory.
