<p> Learning Discernment</p><p>Learning to discern individuals are perhaps the most difficult gift to develop. We are apt to take people at face value by their first claim of being a Christian. Yet, we are told in the word that wolves in sheep clothing have entered into the sheep pen. We are also told that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light and: “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works” II Corinthians 11:13-15. As Christians, we want to think the best thoughts of everyone, but often our best thought might be a cautious thought. Should I trust or should I just wait it out and see. The Bible often tells us to wait and to learn patience, but we seem to relate that only to situations that require an answer of yes, no, or maybe from God. So think about it. Should we give in easily to trusting any and everyone without a period of waiting to see if a person is who and what they claim to be? Discernment does not always come at initial contact. You might have a sense of foreboding, but it might only be that a new person reminds you of someone else that you had a bad encounter with. It could very well be that your first instincts were right on target. It is imperative for the believer to discern individuals in this day and age because too many so call Christians have infiltrated the ranks of the true believers and are perpetrating themselves as true Christians. They believe they can adhere to their pagan beliefs and church hop from faith to faith as though it is just a side bar to true faith. Amos 3:3 asks the question: “Can two walk together, except they be agreed? In a situation like this it is not a matter of them agreeing with you it is you agreeing with them. I hear it more and more each day, “it doesn’t matter what we believe just as long as we all end up the same place.” Do you see the deception and why discernment is important? It does matter what the other person believe. At some point the issue will arise and you will finally come at best to this conclusion; let’s just agree to disagree. So what will you agree to disagree on, Jesus the Son of God, His imminent return, praying to a saint or the Son, reading the gospel or some other alternative book, what will it be? If you cannot discern what is right you will never discern what is wrong. Discernment should tell you that we are moving toward a one world religion. Do you know what that means in truth? It means that all of humanity will worship whomever, however and whenever. It also means that so call Christians, Catholics, Jews, Buddhist, Mormons, Jehovah Witness, New Age, and all the know world religions will worship as one. Now, are you apt to just go along with the crowd? Are you apt to so easily become a part of the one world order? Think on this, fall for anything and you will settle for nothing. You must take a stand. It might cost you something, you might be ridiculed, and you might be singled out as a nonconformist, but Paul says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God” Romans 12:2. </p><p>Copyright © 2007 Founder Catch the Wave Ministries</p>
