<p> FYI FYI FYI FYI F O R Y O U R I N F O R M A T I O N</p><p>Maintaining The Confidentiality Of A Child’s Placement</p><p>This is to provide clarification regarding maintaining the confidentiality of a child’s placement under WIC Section 308.</p><p>Pursuant to WIC Section 308, the address of a licensed foster family home (including all foster family agency homes) must be kept confidential until otherwise ordered by the court. This provision of WIC 308 does not apply to the home of a non-custodial parent, relative, small family homes, group homes, hospitals or MacLaren Children’s Center.</p><p>Name</p><p>If the licensed foster parent or foster family agency foster parent does not wish his or her name to be divulged, you must keep this information confidential. The correct wording on the Detention Report would be</p><p>(Child’s name) is placed in a licensed foster home. Per WIC 308, the name and address of the foster parent remains confidential.</p><p>Address</p><p>Foster parents may invoke their right to maintain the confidentiality of their address by declining to sign the DCFS 5210, Placement Address Disclosure. If they decline to waive confidentiality, the address of the placement is omitted from the Detention Report. </p><p>Telephone Number</p><p>You MUST provide the parent/guardian or responsible relative with the telephone number to the location where the child is placed and the telephone number MUST be included on the Detention Report.
