
<p>1. Configuring McAfee VirusScan</p><p>After installing McAfee VirusScan according to the manufacturer’s instructions, configure the application as follows. 1. In the VirusScan console, double click on “Full Scan.”</p><p>2. Click on “Schedule.” 3. Check “Enable” and “Stop the task if it runs for:” Set the maximum time a scan can run before it is stopped.</p><p>4. Go to the “Schedule” tab. Define the scan frequency and start time. Please note: define a start time when the system will not be in use. 5. Uncheck the “Enable randomization” & “Run if missed.” 6. In the VirusScan Console, double click on “AutoUpdate.”</p><p>7. Check “Get newer detection definition files if available” and “Get newer detection engine and dats if available” in the properties window.</p><p>8. Uncheck “Get other available updates (service packs, upgrades, etc.).”</p><p>NOTE: Only superDimension approved updates of antivirus applications can be installed. Automatic updating of antivirus applications must be disabled and updates installed. 9. In the VirusScan Console, double click on “On-Access Scanner.” 10. Go to the “Messages” tab and check “Messages for local users.”</p><p>END</p>
