<p> San Francisco State University Public Administration Program School of Public Affairs and Civic Engagement College of Health and Social Sciences</p><p>Call for Nominations for the Barbara Jordan Awards for Student Excellence</p><p>Spring 2017</p><p>Each year the Public Administration Program honors its best students with the Barbara Jordan Awards for Student Excellence. These awards recognize outstanding achievement and service, following the example of the late esteemed public servant Barbara Jordan.</p><p>Eligible students must be graduating with the MPA degree between the Fall 2016 and Summer 2017 terms, and must be nominated by themselves, their faculty, their classmates, or anyone else familiar with their achievements. (Eligibility of all nominees will be verified)</p><p>Below are the criteria for the awards. Nominees do not need to exemplify each of the criteria, but those meeting a greater breadth of the criteria will be given greater consideration.</p><p>1. Academic performance, including: o Outstanding overall academic performance in MPA program o High quality thesis or other course-related project 2. Contributions to campus or community 3. Evidence of being a team player 4. Evidence of surmounting greater than usual obstacles in pursuing degree</p><p>To nominate yourself, your student, or your classmate, complete the attached form and email it to Dr. Jennifer Shea at [email protected] by April 3, 2017. Write “Jordan awards” in the Subject of your email.</p><p>The recipient(s) will be selected by the faculty and recognized at the PACE end-of-year ceremony in May.
