<p>Executive Report From the Office of the Vice President of External Affairs</p><p>Date: April 22th, 2016</p><p>Upcoming Events & Deadlines</p><p>1. Peer Mentoring Program. The director of Advocacy is holding weekly office hours to continue with its role of advisory for graduate students experiences different issues. The aim is to empower students by providing the resources available at ASU to be better advocates for themselves.</p><p>Action Items for Assembly Members</p><p>1.</p><p>Accomplishments since previous meeting 1. Devils in Disguise – Saturday April 9th, 2016 – Largest ASU Day of Service. GPSA hosted a site with CARE Partnership in Mesa, AZ. 29 graduate student help the nonprofit by cleaning and organizing their library, planning their community festival for kids; gardening, etc. 2. The EA committee made an annual review on the advocacy efforts for the academic year and made recommendations for the Advocacy Agenda 2016-2017 based on these observations. (see comments in the additional material folder) 3. Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) April meeting – The VP of EA attended the April meeting at the University of Arizona campus. 4. Student leadership reception at ABOR meeting – Participated at the meeting with students from NAU and UoA to talk about the future of a joint association and policy updates concerning the three major universities. 5. Regular monthly Sun Devil Political Action Network (SDPAN) meeting. These meeting serve to coordinate advocacy efforts among VPs of EA from GPSA and undergraduate governments from all campuses. 6. Advocacy Blog in the GPSA website 7. General duties included: attending the weekly exec team meetings at the Tempe campus. 8. Meeting with advocacy and legislative teams from UoA and NAU, both undergraduate and graduate governments to prepare the mission statement for the Arizona Student Government Collaborative. GPSA is evaluating whether its worth being part of that group.
