In 2007, our 2 clubs Howard, and Shirley joined together to make one. Between both clubs we have a history of well over 60 years. As neither team wanted to lose their name we have become Howard & Shirley Netball Club and later HS Netball. For the season 2009-10 we gained entry into the County League for 2010-11 which is great news for the club. Unfortunately in season 13/14 we were relegated but hope to gain promotion at the first attempt this year.</p><p>The Club were awarded our Bronze CAPS accreditation in May 2012</p><p>Saturday Leagues</p><p>We have 5 teams currently playing in the Croydon League. Premier/Div 2/Div 3/2 teams in Div 5. On the opposite Saturday we play in the MET league in divisions 2 & 4. Our home ground is Shirley High school. </p><p>Training </p><p>We train every Tuesday between September and April (commencing 2nd September 2014) at Croydon High School (outdoor court), 8-9.30pm. Our coach is Lorraine Woodyer, who joined us in 2009. She is a level 2 coach with a range of experience and we are all looking forward to working with her again this season. But new players will be advised of this once you have joined the club. We also have to affiliate to England Netball & Surrey Netball for the season, this currently is:</p><p>Over 18’s £28 Under 18’s £18.50 This membership includes playing insurance, a bi-monthly magazine and various other offers. You have to affiliate before you play.</p><p>Costs include, all your CNL match fees, your training, umpiring fees, court hire, refreshments, coaching, training venue hire, entry to various league, equipment, envelopes, stamps, phone calls etc…</p><p>Extra costs are: MET/Evening League, Rallies, Social events and Kit.</p><p>Kit</p><p>Our kit is either a dress or skort and top. Our colours are mainly Navy with Turquoise trim with navy patch bibs. We also wear Hoodies and Waterproof Jackets and Long Sleeve playing tops. We do not order tracksuit bottoms but request you wear navy ones. </p><p>Kit must be worn for all games. For evening league any navy or turquoise tops as we wear pull on bibs.</p><p>New players must now purchase kit. </p><p>Prices are subject to change as we order from Kukri and Price & Buckland:</p><p>Dress £36.50 Skort £22.50 Short Sleeve Top £15.50 Long Sleeve Top £15.00 Hoodie £15 Showerproof Jacket £31</p><p>Our Junior Section</p><p>We have a very successful junior section for Under 16’s, they train before the seniors (7-8pm) and we welcome any new players. If you know of any girls that would be interested then please contact us for more info. </p><p>Rallies & Tour & Social</p><p>We play in all the tournaments the league offer and they are fun days and even better when you win them which we have being quite successful in doing over the past years! They include the Beginning of season, End of season, Evening league, Mixed & Versatility.</p><p>We try and go on tour every year, the usual favourites being Bournemouth or Torquay!</p><p>Other info</p><p>We are a very friendly club and try and get all members involved in some way. If you would like to help in any way either umpiring, coaching or something else however small we would be very grateful. There are always courses for umpiring and coaching and the club will support you in anyway possible and there are grants available outside of the club. </p><p>Our way of contacting players for matches and other things is by email or text mainly, if we do need a response then please do reply it makes our life easier!
