<p>This year your child will be using a F.R.O.G. Binder. F.R.O.G. stands for First grader Responsible, Organized, and Growing. The purpose of the binder is to help your child stay organized as they grow and learn responsibility. Your child needs to bring the binder to school every day. Below you will find a brief description of each section of the binder. </p><p>Homework Pocket (inside front cover pocket): Your child will place their homework in this pocket each day. Place completed homework back in the homework pocket. I will collect homework on Thursday.</p><p>Zippered pouch: This pouch is for lunch money, field trip money, scholastic money, permission forms and office notes such as Dr. appointments, early dismissal, etc. </p><p>Communication log: This section provides a space for parent and teacher to communicate. Please flag the sheet with the Post it Note to alert me about new communication. Please initial any notes I write in the log to indicate you’ve read them. </p><p>Behavior Log: Each day your child will reflect on their classroom behavior and will use a wet erase marker to record a number 1-4 to correspond to our responsibility hierarchy. At the end of the week please wipe it clean with a damp cloth so it is ready for a new week. </p><p>Reading log: Your child should record each book they read at home in the book log. </p><p>Spelling sheet: This sheet lists activities to use when doing word building with your child.</p><p>Frogtastic Fact Practice: This sheet contains math facts for your child to practice. Use a wet erase marker on the sheet. Check your child’s work and then wipe clean with damp rag.</p><p>Writing folder: This folder contains your child’s writing workshop pieces. Please do not remove them from the folder. </p><p>Work folder: One side holds work to be done at school and the other side for unfinished work that should be finished at home.</p><p>Finished work folder: Finished work will be placed in this folder. Please remove the finished work and keep it at home. </p><p>Newsletters and Notes (back inside pocket): Newsletters and School notes will be placed here. Please check daily. Thank you……………….
