<p> BEES Athletic Boosters Meeting August 7, 2017</p><p>Attendees (see attached list)</p><p>Beth O'Donnell called the meeting to order</p><p>Outgoing President, Beth O'Donnell :  Welcome everyone and thank you for coming to the 1st BEES Athletic Boosters meeting; nice big crowd!</p><p>Introduction of new officers - - Each member gave a brief introduction  Beth O'Donnell, former President; President position is Open and Brian Kirin, has just stepped forward to fill this position.  Sharon Hajek, 1st Vice President  Carri Kenney, 2nd Vice President  Marie Green, Secretary  Chris Labas, Treasurer  Leah Corbo, Membership  Mike Urbanowicz, Team Rep  Concessions - Open * *This open position is mostly Fall season and is responsible for ordering and staffing the concessions for Fall sports utilizing the stadium. Typically the concessions need approximately 20 people for Varsity Football games, and 4 people for 50/50 raffle. All other Fall sports need approximately 3-4 people. For further details see the full job description on the website, Beesboosters.org. It was suggested to possibly co- chair this position. And, Beth introduced the Athletic Director, Mark Maslona. He is also a resource for the Concessions position. Mark handles Winter sports concessions, in the Gymnasium.</p><p>Beth explained the purpose of the BEES Athletic Boosters (BAB) and informed the attendees that BAB provides team letters, pins, trophies, state awards. BAB is funded through Membership and various fundraising. Recent purchases include, new mats in the gymnasium, and a soft landing for Track in the long jump pit; as well as Senior Banners for all sports teams. For any purchases under $2500, the Executive board approves; anything over $2500 is voted on by group. </p><p>Team Reps, Mike Urbanowicz: The process for handling team sign-ups to work the Concessions was explained by Mike. He made sure all team reps present had signed the attendance sheet. He pulled team names, in random order, for teams represented at meeting. These team reps signed up for available games to work concessions. Mike will send a spreadsheet to team reps to ensure that any open dates/times get filled. The schedule is then prepared via Schedule Genius. Teams earn credit hours for working various games/shifts; the total number of hours volunteered are divided up, and then the teams get their share of money earned.</p><p>Beth reviewed the May 15, 2017 regular meeting minutes. Chris Labas made a motion to approve the May regular meeting minutes. Leah Corbo seconded the motion. A voice vote was held. The motion carried.</p><p>Beth reviewed the May 15, 2017 executive meeting minutes. Sharon Hajek made a motion to approve the May executive meeting minutes. John Graham seconded the motion. A voice vote was held. The motion carried.</p><p>Treasurer, Chris Labas: Chris recently had a turnover meeting with previous Treasurer, JoAnn Farwell. He explained the fiscal year runs from 8/1 - 7/31. Chris mentioned new business that needs to take place with the bank, PNC. JoAnn Farwell and Jennifer Starinsky need to be removed from the account # x 9478; both Chris Labas and Brian Kirin need to be added to the account. Financials were not reviewed at this meeting. Financial report to be reviewed at September meeting.</p><p>Membership, Leah Corbo: Leah reported that she has already received approximately 20 new memberships! Please see the website to complete your membership form and make payment. </p><p>Athletic Director, Mark Maslona: Mark noted the nice turnout for this meeting and thanked everyone for coming to the meeting and volunteering. He informed everyone that his door is open and he is happy to help. Meet the BEES took place on 7/31/17. Fall sports pictures were taken today, as well as Senior banner pictures. Mark asked for volunteers to help hang banners when they come in. It takes about 1 hr. to hang the banners at the stadium. A signup sheet was passed around for volunteers to assist. Lynn McGreevy, Athletic Secretary retired. Megan Schiavone was hired as her replacement. New district Treasurer, Jeff Hall was introduced. Welcome Jeff.</p><p>Old Business, reviewed by Beth: Amazon Smile is a fundraising program. Please sign up at SmileAmazon.com. It is easy to register - search for organization "BEES Boosters". Sign up once and it will remember you. Easter Seals has removed the bins from the Middle School parking lot. They have done away with this program but will have a FILL-THE-TRUCK campaign for clothing and household donations. Date TBD. The big fundraiser is our Golf Outing - Friday August 25th, 9am at Briarwood Golf Course. This is a great money maker. We are in need of GOLFERS so please spread the word. Contact Mike Rose for info - [email protected]; or register at Beesboosters.org/golf-outing. Volunteers are needed to register golfers in the morning @8am and pass out box lunches. Contact Marie Green - [email protected]</p><p>Scoreboard Sponsors - Advertise on the scoreboard for Friday night home football games. $100/game will get your name on the scoreboard and announced 3 times during the game. Please contact Kelly Petkunas at: [email protected]</p><p>Football Gold Card reads "Brecksville" and not "Brecksville/Broadview Hts." the Mayor of Broadview Hts. mentioned this to Nancy Grattino and she relayed this at the meeting.</p><p>Janice Morgan mentioned that the Concession stand needed to be cleaned. She said she would get items ordered and have concessions stocked and ready for 1st game (Friday 8/18). Mark to see if custodial staff can get it cleaned. Beth to get key to concessions from Alicia DeSantis.</p><p>New Business: Team updates, Julie Seballos mentioned there will be a Swim Team fundraiser on Saturday 9/30 at the 3-Spot in North Royalton. </p><p>Thank you again to all for coming tonight. The Team Reps job is super important to communicate out information to you teams. And thank you to Brian Kirin for taking the President role.</p><p>Mark Maslona recognized Beth O'Donnell for her many years of service as BAB President. Beth has given her all to the Boosters and her work was certainly appreciated. THANK YOU BETH!!!</p><p>Next Meeting - Tuesday September 5th, 7pm at High School Media Center. Meeting was adjourned. </p>
