<p> Central Florida Council, BSA 2011 Boy Scout Recruiting </p><p>We will be recruiting new Boy Scouts from local middle schools in October. Here’s how it works:</p><p>School Presentation: We will be visiting each middle school in the district. During the school day we will set up a campsite with outdoor gear for display. Students will visit the campsite in small groups and participate in a brief outdoor activities presentation. </p><p>Host Troop: For each school we will need a Host Troop. The Host Troop helps to supply equipment for the campsite, manpower (or boypower) to set up the campsite, and any adults who are available to help with the presentations.</p><p>Sign-Up Night: Any Troop can participate in any sign-up night. A district presenter will discuss the Boy Scout program with parents at the sign-up night. Each troop that wishes to recruit new boys from the school must send a representative who will have a minute to talk about the troop’s activities. Parents and prospective Scouts will then have the chance to shop around the room with each Troop, and decide which Troop fits them best based on location, meeting day, and activities. </p><p>What’s important about our recruiting effort?  It’s important to have as many Troops as possible at each sign-up night; this ensures that boys can choose the best Troop for them and that each Troop gets an equal share of new boys (average 20 per school).  Any Troop can participate in any school’s recruitment.
