<p>DATE: January 1, 2011</p><p>TO: Residents of Colonial Villa Apartments </p><p>RE: New Smoking Policy</p><p>Dear Resident(s),</p><p>Approximately three months ago, IRET Properties notified its residents that a new smoking policy would be implemented. Under this policy, smoking is no longer permitted anywhere within an IRET apartment building(s). This includes the building’s common areas and the individual apartment units. </p><p>Residents that have decks or patios are allowed to smoke in those areas as long as a freestanding ash urn, which IRET provides, is used to extinguish the smoking materials. Individuals that do not have decks or patios may smoke in the designated smoking areas located around the property. Only the property provided ash urns are permitted for extinguishing smoking materials. </p><p>Enclosed with this notice is a Smoking Lease Addendum. This addendum must be signed and returned to the management office of your apartment community by February 1, 2011. If you would like to receive an ash urn for your deck or patio please sign the bottom of this notice and return it to management no later than February 1, 2011. </p><p>IRET’s new smoking policy will go into effect February 20, 2011.
