<p> 8th Grade History</p><p>Week of January 17-20</p><p>Tuesday Jan 17</p><p>Bellwork</p><p>What is the most important right we have in the United States?</p><p>The Bill of Rights (first 10 amendments) was added to the Constitution to ensure the rights of the citizens could not be taken away. With the addition of the Bill of Rights the Anti-Federalists were now willing to vote in favor of ratification of the Constitution.</p><p>Look at the first five amendments to the Constitution. Read them and write in your own words what you think they mean. </p><p>First five Amendments </p><p>Wednesday Jan 18</p><p>Continue looking at the Bill of Rights. Read amendments 6-10 and put them in your own words.</p><p>Amendments 6-10</p><p>Thursday Jan 19</p><p>The Supreme Court was a vital part of the Constitution and heard many cases deciding if people rights were violated. Look at the case and fill out the worksheet. Justices in agreement and Justices dissent is the number of Justices for or against in the class.
