Box 12954 (Building 48228) Fort Huachuca, Arizona 85670 (520) 459-8892</p><p>March 9, 2017</p><p>Dear Parents & Guardians:</p><p>We kindly ask that sometime over Spring Break, March 13-17, 2017, parents and students review the Colonel Smith Middle School Student Dress/Uniform Guidelines. As of late, we have had to address numerous concerns that diminish academic classroom time. Please be reminded that the guidelines state the following regarding these areas of concern:</p><p>Bottoms: khaki/tan, navy blue or black Trousers, shorts, skorts, skirts, skirtalls and capri pants – No denim jeans/pants, lace see though, jeggings, leggings, yoga style, stretch material, “skinny pants” or side pocketed-cargo style trousers, leather/leather type material or shorts. All items are to be in good condition and not frayed, ripped, or cut off (they must be hemmed). No outside pockets/patch pockets. The pockets must be slit pockets. No form fitting uniforms. Pants must fit at the waist. “Sagging” or oversized pants are not permissible. Shorts, skorts, skirts and skirtalls are to be no shorter than finger-tip length.</p><p>Socks: red, white, navy blue, khaki/tan or black – They must be one solid color. No stripes, emblems or designs. Only one pair of socks will be worn at a time.</p><p>Another area of concern is chewing gum which is prohibited at school. </p><p>Thank you for supporting the health and safety of our school.
