<p>Channel One News questions:</p><p>1 Young, ethnic anchorpersons are surrounded by screens in this segment- How are they different from network news anchorpersons? How are they the same?</p><p>2 “If you see it on CNN, you will see it on Channel One” (Martin Grant) If you see it on Cnn, why would you need to see it anywhere else?</p><p>3 Is Channel One filling an important need? Andy Hill (president of programming at channel One) seems to think so when he states that they tend to be the sole way young people access the news. Do you agree? Why might this be harmful?</p><p>4 If the program presents stories of specific interest to teens, what would you expect those stories to be?</p><p>5 Channel one says that their correspondents travel the work, therefore providing ‘unique perspectives. What would you expect those unique perspectives to be from these correspondents?</p><p>6 How are the promotions for channel one different than regular network promotions? How might they appeal to teens? Do they appeal to you? Why? Why not?</p><p>7 Channel one reps state that no story is typical, and that they do not follow a formula. Re: the Kenneth Starr story, how different is it from the NBC story?</p><p>8 Chopra states, “We have a responsibility to tell them the right way.” What is the point of highlighting war, in your opinion?</p>
