<p> JOB DESCRIPTION DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES </p><p>FLSA STATUS: Exempt - Full Time REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer</p><p>POSITION DESCRIPTION The Director of Human Resources provides leadership to and oversees the human resource functions in the agency to insure a high performing and productive work force focused on quality delivery of program services to the youth and families engaged in Camp Fire Alaska. </p><p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  Provide oversight to recruitment, performance management and improvement systems, employee compensation and benefits, personnel policies and compliance  Create strategies to develop and build Camp Fire’s workforce and lead retention efforts  Foster a mission and values driven work culture and relationships that are caring and supportive across all aspects of the agency with a focus on quality and continuous improvement  Ensure compliance by developing, implementing, executing and managing current personnel law and all local, state and federal laws and regulatory agency requirements  Provide coaching, mentoring and training to managers and supervisors in the agency to insure a safe, healthy and goal orientated work environment to include guidance and counseling around HR and personnel related concerns  Facilitate change management practices to meet ever evolving priorities within the organization to enable greater service  Provide oversight and training on risk management reduction practices related to employees and human resource practices  Provide oversight to human resource related expenditures and execute prudent fiscal controls  Participate in council-wide strategic planning and budgeting initiatives  Exemplify Camp Fire Alaska’s value statements, vision and mission in all actions, communications and relationships  Establish and maintain professional relationships with partners, collaborations, and networks specific to areas of responsibility</p><p>KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:  Undergrad degree required; and advanced degree in human resource management or similar discipline preferred. A SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred and completion will be a condition of hire.  A minimum of 5-7 years working in a professional leadership role  Record of successful experience in the nonprofit field with youth development and/or human/social service experience preferred: including the ability to motivate, lead, coach, mentor and supervise professional and paraprofessional staff, set performance objectives and manage complex systems  Demonstrated skills in implementing strategic and systemic change and a successful history of project management in an environment of ever changing priorities  Demonstrated history of engaging in continued learning and professional growth  Excellent human relation and communication skills and demonstrated history working with diverse populations  Highly collaborative work style, able to balance implementation of specific goals and tasks with fostering cooperation and consensus </p><p>SUPERVISION/INVOLVEMENT  Supervise designated managers and support staff and actively engage as a member of Camp Fire Alaska’s leadership team 3/10/16 WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:  Work requires minor physical exertion and/or physical strain.
