<p> Acting a Scene from The Crucible You will be broken up into small groups and given the task of ACTING, STAGING (BLOCKING), and using PROPS for a scene from The Crucible. In order to succeed at this task you will need to: KNOW YOUR PART - You will be able to read from a script but you shouldn't just stare at it the whole time. You'll also need to have read the play in its entirety to understand the situation for your characters and your scene. For extra credit, memorize your lines. If you choose this, be sure to REALLY know your lines.</p><p>KNOW THE STAGING - You shouldn't all just stand up at the front reading your lines. You need to have MOVEMENT...clearly defined places on the stage to go to...objects to pick up...characters enter and exit on cue. This separates the mediocre from the great. PROVIDE PROPS & COSTUMES - You'll need to have costumes and props. You don't have to go out and buy things. Be creative. Use aprons, use hats...use gavels, etc. ACTING - Speak loudly so that others can hear and understand you. Make eye contact. Don’t fidget on stage.
