<p> Resources and Milestones for July 1, 2014 – June 30, 2015 Performance Cycle</p><p>Training Information</p><p>Performance Management Fundamentals Designed for newer staff, including supervisors and non-supervisors  Register for this training to understand each major component in GW’s PM process: goal setting, self-assessment, performance review writing, performance discussions and professional development. This session will help you make the most out of the upcoming review process and teach you how to effectively manage your performance all year long. o Monday, June 15th – 2:00 p.m. o Wednesday, June 17th – 11:00 a.m. Writing Effective Self-Assessments Designed for more experienced employees, including supervisors and non-supervisors  Register for this session to learn how to write an effective self-assessment and professional development plan. We will cover exactly what you should focus on when writing your self- assessment, how to develop a comprehensive professional development plan, and go over the tools and resources available to help you along the way. o Monday, June 22nd – 2:00 p.m. o Wednesday, June 24th – 11:00 a.m. Writing Effective Performance Reviews Designed for supervisors familiar with the PM process  Register for this training to increase the quality and impact of your performance reviews. We will cover the one-two-three methodology for writing objective performance reviews, review examples of effective performance review language, and explain how to correct and document workplace behavior. o Tuesday, July 7th – 2:00 p.m. o Thursday, July 9th – 11:00 a.m.</p><p>Timeline and Resources</p><p>06/01/2015 Staff complete and submit the self-assessment portion of the performance review form. Staff draft Through and submit Goal Agreements outlining the priorities for the year ahead. 07/10/15  Access the Performance Review Form (includes self-assessment) or Research Staff Performance Review Form.  Find ideas for creating Professional Development Plans.  Use the Goal Agreement and learn how to draft goals for the upcoming review period. 07/01/15 Supervisors write performance reviews, finalize Goal Agreements, Use the form tool to write Through accurate and concise performance reviews. 07/31/15  Suggest on the job learning opportunities for employee Professional Development Plans.  Ensure that goals are aligned with school/division priorities.  Understand the role of the next level approver. 07/31/15 Supervisors submit completed Performance Reviews of each employee that reports to them to their Through next level approvers (Human Resources and leadership above the supervisor) to obtain next level 08/14/15 approval for the Performance Reviews and ensure Organization wide consistency of ratings  Understand the role of the next level approver 8/14/15 Staff and supervisors hold performance discussions and sign completed reviews and Goal Through Agreements. Print the two complementary discussion checklists to prepare for, facilitate, and 08/26/15 ensure follow up on performance conversations: Reviewer’s Checklist and Employee’s Checklist.
