<p> Baraboo River Field Tour – Tentative Schedule Friday October 31, 2014 8 am – 1 pm Travel to Reedsburg - video of the 2008 storm, aerial photos and maps of the flooded areas, photos of the damage (Reedsburg Dam removed in 1972). In Reedsburg – Reedsburg City staff will join us and use bus as conference room for PowerPoint video of the Reedsburg flooding and how they recovered – City planning, community meetings, grants, etc. Discussion and questions with staff. Walk (about 2 block distance) the area that the homes were bought out, City stormwater features - to the Industry. Industry rep talks about damage they sustained, economic impact and what they did. Reboard bus – go to Reedsburg WWTP while showing more photos including WWTP flooding. WWTP rep talks about changes to the WWTP. Board bus to Baraboo – photo slideshow of flooding and damage on Clark Creek. Arrive at former Linen Mill Dam site southeast of Baraboo – location of dam removal and mouth of Clark Creek. Meet representative from Sauk County Land Conservation to introduce features of Clark Creek restoration efforts. Depart Linen Mill Dam site to view two restoration sites – a prairie restoration and a wetland restoration – near the creek’s headwaters. Depart restoration sites, to drive to arrive at parking location near Clark Creek revetment site. Arrive and park near revetment site and begin hike. Return from hike, depart for hotel in the Dells. Return to hotel at 12:45 pm.</p><p>Please wear comfortable and weather appropriate clothes and shoes</p>
