<p>Press Release for Immediate Release: May 17, 2016 Contact: Sarah Massey 240-396-2440 [email protected]</p><p>Bethesda Green and Bethesda Magazine Honor Green Innovators and Leaders Nominate a green individual, company or organization now through June 17</p><p>(Bethesda, MD) - This fall, Bethesda Green and Bethesda Magazine will celebrate the work of local people, companies and organizations that are leading the fight to protect the environment. Individuals and groups are encouraged to send in nominations now for the 2016 Bethesda Magazine Green Awards in the categories of Innovation, Leading by Example and Individual Leadership. Winners will be profiled in the November/December issue of Bethesda Magazine and recognized at the annual Bethesda Green Gala on October 6, 2016, at the Bethesda Blues & Jazz Club.</p><p>“For the 2016 Awards and Gala, our theme is ‘tell us your story’ because it is through storytelling that we learn,” says Bethesda Green Executive Director Veronique Marier. “The vision for the awards and gala is to motivate our community to embrace sustainability and green practices. We want their stories to inspire more people and organizations to take action on behalf of the environment.” </p><p>“We count on the community to let us know what organizations and individuals they think are worthy of recognition,” said Bethesda Magazine Editor and Publisher Steve Hull, “and enjoy celebrating with the winners at the Bethesda Green Gala every year.” </p><p>The three nomination categories are defined as: 1. Innovation Award A business whose primary focus is developing green products and/or services that is having, or is poised to have, a significant and measurable impact on sustainability either locally or on a broader scale. 2. Leading by Example Award A business, non-profit, faith-based organization or school that is making a significant and measurable impact on sustainability through its own green practices. 3. Individual Leadership Award An individual who is making a significant and measurable impact on sustainability through his/her professional leadership and/or personal behavior.</p><p>The deadline for nominations is Friday, June 17 at 5 p.m. Winners will be notified in July. To be considered, businesses, non-profit organizations, community groups and schools must be based in Montgomery County, Maryland or Upper Northwest Washington, DC. (ZIP Codes 20015 and 20016). Individuals must have their primary residence in the above areas.</p><p>The 2015 winners were: The Compost Crew, Green Acres School, the JBG Companies, Fr.
