<p> Fortalice Ltd Person Specification</p><p>Job Title: Family Support Worker - Nights </p><p>Responsible to: Team Leaders and Chief Executive</p><p>Responsible for: Assigned Volunteers</p><p>Knowledge and experience:</p><p> Knowledge and empathy with the aims and objectives of the organisation and the issues relating to domestic violence.  At least six months experience of working in a similar setting.  A basic understanding of child protection and the protection of vulnerable adults and a commitment to follow procure.  Experience of developing and writing support plans.  Experience of working both independently and as part of a team.  Experience of reception and general office admin duties.</p><p>Skills, abilities and attitudes:</p><p> Have an open and welcoming manner and good communication skills with both adults and children.  Good literacy and numeracy skills.  Good organisational skills.  The ability to work effectively unsupervised and to prioritise tasks.  An ability to work well in challenging situations and use own initiative to make sensible decisions.  The ability to record and write case records when working with residents.  Excellent motivation and an ability to use own initiative.  A commitment to personal development, learning and work effectively as part of a team.  Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft office and email communication.  An ability to write risk assessments.  Be committed to equal opportunities and demonstrate an ability to work in a non- discriminatory way.  The ability to share ideas for developing the strategic vision of the Organisation.</p><p>Operational conditions:</p><p> An awareness of health and safety.  An ability to work well in a busy environment.  The work is occasionally stressful, involving contact with service users who may be in a distressed state or relating experiences of abuse.  Availability to work flexibly within the post when required.</p><p>Written 26.08.16</p>
