<p>Post-Doctoral Scholar position available (at Case Western Reserve University, Department of Biomedical Engineering)</p><p>INVESTIGATION OF ELECTRICAL NERVE BLOCK</p><p>The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University is inviting highly motivated individuals to apply for a new postdoctoral position. This position involves studying the effectiveness of electrical waveforms and electrodes in blocking peripheral nerves of the motor, sensory and autonomic systems. Electrical nerve block is an emerging field with broad applications for pain relief, motor dysfunction, and autonomic nervous system control. Candidates must possess: </p><p> Doctoral degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Neuroscience or Chemical/Materials Engineering.  Expertise in experimental methods, in-vitro testing, and/or in-vivo evaluation in chronic and acute settings.  Knowledge of Matlab/Labview/Spike, data acquisition, laboratory instrumentation and experimental measurements.  Knowledge and experience in one of the following four areas would be a plus; neural modeling and simulations, finite element analysis, cell/axonal recordings, or materials design for electrodes.  Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal and technical skills.</p><p>U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency preferred. Position will be for a minimum of 2 years with the potential for extension depending on progress.
