<p> “A Quiet Rage” Video on the Stanford Prison Experiment</p><p>While watching this video, here are a few questions you should think about. 1. One of the themes of this video is the power of the situation. How is that theme demonstrated by Zimbardo’s prison study? 2. Do you think the guards had different personalities than the prisoners? Do you think that how the guards and prisoners acted was affected by their personalities? 3. How do you think you would have acted if you had been a prisoner in this study? What if you had been a guard? 4. Was this an experiment according to the definition of an experiment that we have discussed in this class? 5. Was this study ethical? (Be sure to think back to the things we talked about in terms of how to make an ethical decision). 6. Do you think the participants in this study were glad to have been a part? Why or why not? What benefits did they get and what harm did they experience? 7. What benefits were gained by the study to others (not the prisoners or guards)?</p>
