Encourage critical reading and thinking skills in children. 6. Expand children’s vocabularies. 7. Source of enjoyment in reading for children.</p><p>Evaluation Criteria for Informational Books 1. All facts should be accurate and unbiased. 2. A qualified author should write the books. 3. Information should be as current as possible. 4. Stereotypes should be eliminated. 5. Illustrations should clarify the text. 6. Analytical thinking should be encouraged. 7. The organization should aid understanding of the book and should be logical. 8.
