<p> ACADEMIC SENATE 2014-15 MINUTES MEETING 1 May 8, 2014 2:00-2:30 p.m. in PSY-150</p><p>1. CALL TO ORDER 2:06 p.m.</p><p>2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Approved</p><p>Chair O’Connor gave the Academic Senate instructions regarding the elections taking place in this meeting for the Academic Year 2014-15. </p><p>3. ELECTION OF CHAIR: Chair O’Connor was the only candidate running for Academic Senate Chair. He gave a brief statement regarding his interest in the position. A vote ensued: Approve: 58 Oppose: 6 Chair O’Connor was approved by the Academic Senate.</p><p>4. ELECTION OF VICE CHAIR: There were two candidates for this position: Chris Miles and Norbert Schürer. Both candidates gave a statement of interest. A vote ensued: Chris Miles (COTA): 33 Norbert Schürer (CLA): 28 Chris Miles was elected to serve as Vice Chair. </p><p>5. ELECTION OF SECRETARY; There was one candidate for this position, Rob Frear (COTA). He gave a brief statement of interest. A vote ensued: Approve: 58 Oppose: 6 Rob Frear was elected for the Secretary position. </p><p>6. ELECTION OF FOUR AT-LARGE MEMBERS OF ACADEMIC SENATE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE The following candidates were nominated for at-large positions. Candidates gave statements to declare their interest. </p><p>Voting for the first member at-large: Norbert Schürer (CLA): 27 Carl Fisher (CLA): 30 Jalal Torabzadeh (COE): 7 </p><p>Norbert Schürer: 30 Carl Fisher: 31 Carl Fisher was elected as an at-large member. 2</p><p>Voting for the second member at-large: Norbert Schürer (CLA): 29 Jessica Pandya (CED):20 Jalal Torabzadeh (COE): 9</p><p>Norbert Schürer: 37 Jessica Pandya: 28 Norbert Schürer was elected as an at-large member.</p><p>Voting for the third member at-large position: Jalal Torabzadeh (COE): 25 Jessica Pandya (CED): 40 Jessica Pandya was selected as an at-large member. </p><p>Voting for the fourth member at-large position: Jalal Torabzadeh (COE): 40 David Stewart (CLA): 21 Jalal Torabzadeh was elected as an at-large member. </p><p>7.
