While in designated groups you will act as though you are political advisors to President Hoover in 1927. Your objective is to decide whether the president should sign the Kellogg-Briand pact, thereby attempting to enforce world peace. </p><p>Define: 1. Formal Letter Directions: For homework you will be required to write a formal letter to the President letting him know what your advice is on the Kellogg Briand Pact. The letter must be one page double spaced on your findings from the article. You should use the questions from class to outline the letter. (Completed assignment will be worth 25 points). </p><p>Rubric:  Letter is typed double spaced and follows the format of a formal letter (e.g. use “dear” “sincerely” and proper spacing where necessary) -5 points.</p><p> Letter informs the president what the Kellogg Briand Pact states. -5 points</p><p> Letter states your analysis of the Kellogg-Briand Pact, what you think about it and why. -5 points</p><p> Letter clearly states whether they think the president signs the pact or not. -5 points</p><p> Letter is free of spelling and grammatical errors. -5 points. </p>
