PROJECT PROGRESS</p><p>Since our last report our team worked most of the time with the camera, since it is the most difficult part to accomplish. We were able to connect the camera to the Arduino as well as testing it with the SD card in order to store images when movement is detected, even though at first the images were not of great quality, we were able to solve that problem as well as fixing some of the code in order to save the image properly. On another topic we made little progress with the audio system of our project, due to our main focus on the camera. We were able to obtain a MP3 shield which is a decoder with the capability of storing music files onto a run-of-the-mill microSD card, thus giving us the ability to add music or sound effects to any project. The sounds are going to be obtained through Text 2 Speech. This app generates speech and listens to texts and websites with a natural sounding voice. We also found a portable speaker (4 OHMS 3 W) to amplify the sound of the text. We do expect to have this part done within a week since the camera part was successfully completed. Overall, we are on schedule, and the rest of parts are working properly, we do expect to be done in a month. Finally, we have to get everything together, so we may be able to encase it and have it ready for showcase.
