
<p> SUPERINTENDENT’S EVALUATION FORM</p><p>Scoring Instructions: Please assess the superintendent’s performance by scoring each item in the listed category. A score of (1) is the lowest possible score while a score of (9) indicates exceptional performance. The rating scales should reflect the following:</p><p>1-3 Unsatisfactory 4-6 Satisfactory 7-9 Excellent</p><p>RELATIONSHIP WITH THE BOARD:</p><p>1) Keeps the board informed on issues, needs, & operation of the school.</p><p>2) Offers professional advice to the board on items requiring board action, with appropriate recommendations based on study & analysis</p><p>3) Interprets & executes the intent of board policy</p><p>4) Supports board policy & actions to the public & staff</p><p>5) Has a good working relationship with the board</p><p>6) Understands his role in administration of board policy</p><p>7) Makes recommendations for employment or promotion of personnel</p><p>8) Does not show favoritism in selecting personnel</p><p>9) Accepts his role as liaison between the board and personnel</p><p>10)Goes to the board when he has a difference of opinion between he & any board member.</p><p>11)Bases his decisions on sound educational principle & is willing to maintain that position without regard for its popularity until board has reached an official position. He then supports the position chosen by the board. COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIPS</p><p>1) Gains respect & support of the community on the conduct of school operation</p><p>2) Develops good relationships with the news media</p><p>3) Is a positive ambassador for the school district</p><p>4) Practices two-way communication with parents and community</p><p>STAFF & PERSONNEL RELATIONSHIPS</p><p>1) Develops & executes sound personnel practices</p><p>2) Treats all personnel fairly without favoritism or discrimination</p><p>3) Delegates authority to staff members as appropriate</p><p>4) Recruits & assigns the best available personnel for positions within the district Effectively selects, develops, and utilizes personnel</p><p>5) Takes an active role in salary schedule development & makes sound recommendations to the board on such matters</p><p>6) Has a positive relationship with the local teacher association</p><p>7) Builds and enhances organizational capacity</p><p>8) Provides formal and informal feedback with the exclusive purpose of improving individual and organizational performance EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP</p><p>1) Understands & keeps informed regarding all aspects of the instructional program.</p><p>2) Implements the district’s philosophy of education</p><p>3) Supervises planned programs of staff evaluation</p><p>4) Expects high professional standards to be maintained by staff</p><p>5) Links decisions to vision, mission, and strategic priorities</p><p>6) Consistently establishes clear objectives and coherent plans when undertaking complex projects</p><p>7) Fosters the proposition of learning for all</p><p>8) Plans and sets goal(s) for student achievement</p><p>9) Uses student achievement results to guide improvement planning</p><p>BUSINESS & FINANCE</p><p>1) Keeps informed on needs of the school program</p><p>2) Supervises operations & insists on competent/efficient performance</p><p>3) Determines that funds are spent wisely</p><p>4) Maintains appropriate accounting system</p><p>5) Evaluates financial needs & makes recommendations for adequate financing PERSONAL QUALITIES</p><p>1) Defends his principle & his convictions in the face of pressure from others</p><p>2) Reacts constructively to disappointment and/or failure.
