This year begins my 2nd year at Coloma Intermediate School and I am thrilled to be back with the students and families I got to know last year as well as I am looking forward to meeting new families when the school year begins.</p><p>My educational background includes focuses in general and special education. In the past 27 years, I have been involved in the education of students at the elementary, secondary, and college levels. I have a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in elementary and special education. At Grand Valley State University I earned a master’s degree in special education and an educational specialist degree in educational administration. My PhD is from Western Michigan University and is in administration leadership.</p><p>I live in Saugatuck with my husband, Jim. We have two grown sons who live close by. I love the change of seasons that West Michigan has to offer and I thoroughly enjoy the family atmosphere of the small towns in this area; especially Coloma, Michigan!</p><p>One of my main goals for this coming academic year is to continue to get to know the families and students of Coloma while promoting a challenging, academically rich environment for students to grow in. I want to hear from students, staff, parents, and the community on what we do well at Coloma Intermediate School and also what areas we can improve on. I view educating students as a team effort between parents and schools and I am hopeful you will contact me about anything you’d like to discuss. My door is always open to sit down and chat.
