Uniform Show Experi- Company itions Club of Homepage ence school </p><p>In Transition Year we are doing the following subjects:</p><p> English  Irish  Mathematics  French  German  Spanish  Home Economics  Science  Film Studies  Computer Studies  Theatre Studies  Geography  History  Irish Dancing  Religion  P.E  Career Studies  Social Studies</p><p>Here is a brief summary of some of our favourite subjects:</p><p>IRISH In Irish we are completing an Irish dance course. We have been learning set dances such as: Thonnaí Tharaigh and Baille Luimnigh FRENCH At the moment we are preparing our very own French Soap Opera, which we will be performing soon! This year we have also got a taste of French cinema. We have watched two French films: Amilee and Huit Femmes.</p><p>HISTORY In History we had our very own chauffeured bus trip around Dublin City, which really was great fun and an educational experience. In History we have and are still in the process of completing really interesting history projects. Everybody has really enjoyed doing these projects as we have done topics such as: Family Trees and the history of our local areas.</p><p>FILM STUDIES With our state of the art cinema, Film Studies every week is like a trip to the cinema! We are getting the perfect chance to see a large range of different film genres. For example, we have watched some all time classics like:  Alfred Hitchcock’s “PHYSCO”  Some Like It Hot We have also watched some more modern movies such as:  What Lies Beneath  We Are Soldiers</p><p>SPANISH Spanish has been a new language for us to study this year. The course we are covering is Holiday Spanish which will be quite beneficial for most of us as we may holiday in Spain in the future. The course has been very enjoyable.</p><p>GEOGRAPHY We have been doing various projects in Geography. One of the biggest projects we have taken on is the “Ballygowan Project”. We split up into groups and tackled some of the problems which have an impact on our school and community. Some of these projects include:  Cleaning up the banks of the River Tolka.  Cleaning up the rockery in front of our school.  Setting up a recycling system in our school.  Making Christmas decorations from recycled materials.</p><p>MINI-COMPANY This year we have set up our very own Private Limited Company called Sweet Dreams Ltd. We have created our very own products which include: Dream Catchers, Candles and personalized Socks. Our produce is now on sale to the school community and we hope to make a big profit at the end of the year! </p>
