<p>Back pay Under MECA</p><p>The DHBs have now processed back pay from the 2002 settlement of MECA.</p><p>Unfortunately, if you have moved DHB (e.g. have rotated to another DHB), or have left the employ of a DHB, they may not automatically forward your entitlement on to you. Their reasoning appears to be that whilst it is your legal entitlement, not “finding” you will save them money.</p><p>As a member of NZRDA, you do have a legal entitlement to a 2% back payment on salaries effective from 1 August 2002. We suggest that if you have not received your back pay from a previous DHB employer, email or fax the payrolls of any DHB you were employed with 3rd or 4th quarter 2002 and request your money be forwarded to you, giving them the appropriate deposit details.</p><p>To assist in your busy lives, we have provided a form letter to complete and send to any relevant payroll.
