<p>Explorers and their Routes</p><p>1. Go to my.hrw.com. Enter your user name and password. Go into the on- line textbook. 2. At the top, select Chapter 16 Section 1….then select “E Activities.” 3. Select “Starting Points in European Discovery.” a. Read the Introduction and then hit “Begin.” b. Match the labels with the continents by dragging the labels. c. Take out the blank map and color the map. This is the world known to Europeans in 1450. Color the map ORANGE. d. Read the facts in the boxes. e. Answer the quiz question and read the conclusion. f. Close Out.</p><p>4. Go back to Interactive Features…..click on Explorers and their Routes. a. Take out your other blank map. b. You will be drawing the routes of the following major explorers on your map. Use different colors for each country’s explorer. -Cabral -Cabot -Vespucci -Cartier -deGama -Drake -Dias -Magellan -Hudson -Columbus</p><p>4. On the back of your map make at least THREE generalizations about the Explorers and their trips. 5. Your teacher will have a transparency projected. This transparency will show Colonies in the Americas. Please color the map as shown in order to show which European countries colonized which parts of North and South America.</p>
