<p> List of Water Supply Sources Sampled at Least Once for Precautionary Sampling Effort</p><p>Quabbin Reservoir: Quabbin Reservoir, located in central Mass, is one of two very large reservoirs which supply the MWRA water system, serving 2.5 million people in 51 cities and towns</p><p>Wachusett Reservoir: Wachusett Reservoir, located in central Mass, is one of two very large reservoirs which supply the MWRA water system, serving 2.5 million people in 51 cities and towns</p><p>Holyoke, McLean Reservoir: One of two active sources used by the Holyoke Public Water System. Approximate population for Holyoke is 40,000 - most of which are served by Public Water System.</p><p>Cleveland Reservoir: located in Hinsdale, MA near the Dalton / Hinsdale Town line. Cleveland Reservoir is one of several (6) reservoirs serving Pittsfield. Approximate population for Pittsfield is 42,000 - most of which are served by Public Water System.</p><p>Cobble Mountain, Westfield: - Supply for the Springfield Water and Sewer Commission. Springfield Water and Sewer Commission serve the Cities/Towns of Springfield, Agawam, Longmeadow, East Longmeadow and Ludlow. In addition, it provides service to a few customers or emergency service to West Springfield, Westfield, Southwick, Wilbraham and Chicopee. Cobble provides 38 mgd of water on an average day. Approximate population served is 250,000.</p><p>Holden Reservoir, Worcester: Holden reservoir is one of 9 reservoirs. This system provides drinking water to the City of Worcester. It serves the population of 173, 966 primarily in Worcester and parts of Holden and Grafton.</p><p>Notown Reservoir, Leominster: One of 3 reservoirs providing water to the City of Leominster. It serves 42,678. </p><p>Southbridge Reservoir, Southbridge: Southbridge Water system includes 5 reservoirs. A sample is being taken from the combined 3, 4 and 5 reservoirs. This system serves Southbridge and a small part of Charlton. Population served 16,482. </p><p>Merrimack River: The Merrimack River watershed drains approximately 5,014 square miles in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. One quarter (1,200 square miles) of this area is in Massachusetts. Municipally owned and operated drinking water treatment plants withdrawing water from the Merrimack include Lowell, Tewksbury, Lawrence, and Andover. </p><p>Concord River: Billerica withdraws water from the Concord, with a population approximately 40,000. Wenham, Lake, Beverly and Wenham: The Salem/Beverly Water Supply Board (Salem/Beverly) maintains and operates four public water supply sources that serve approximately 82 thousand people. Sampling will be performed at Wenham Lake.</p><p>Assawompset Pond Complex (APC), Lakeville-Middleborough: This complex is the primary drinking water supply for the Cities of New Bedford and Taunton (and small sections of Middleboro and Lakeville), and provides water for over 200,000 residents in southeastern Massachusetts. Brockton Reservoir, Avon: The Brockton Reservoir is one of several sources for the Brockton Water System which serves the City of Brockton and approximately 80,000- 100,000 people.</p><p>Long Pond, Falmouth: Falmouth’s Water System includes several sources, including Long Pond, which provides over 50% of the Town’s water supply.</p><p>Cambridge Reservoir: Located in Waltham supplies drinking water for the city of Cambridge.</p><p>Lynn Water Treatment Plant: The water supply in Lynn consists of a series of interconnected reservoirs Hawkes Pond, Walden Pond, Birch Pond, and Breeds Pond supplied primarily by withdrawals from the Saugus and Ipswich rivers. </p>
