<p> PIEDMONT TRIAD</p><p>VOCAL ARTS COMPETITION FOR EMERGING ARTISTS SUNDAY • FEBRUARY 10, 2008 • 3:30PM MUSIC CENTER RECITAL HALL • 200 NORTH DAVIE STREET • GREENSBORO, NC 27403</p><p>Purpose: The purpose of this competition is to (1) recognize young minority classical singers of promise (2) provide a competitive arena in order to enhance their talents and vocal abilities and (3) assist minority artists with music scholarships to further their education and career. </p><p>Competition Guidelines:  Must be between the ages of 18 – 25 by July 1, 2007.  Must be currently enrolled in or have completed an undergraduate or graduate music program.  Must have evidence of classical vocal training.  Must prepare to perform selections from the list of acceptable repertoire.  Must memorize all selections.  Must submit a recommendation from the current vocal teacher/coach/mentor.  Must submit a brief personal profile of no more than two paragraphs</p><p>The following materials must be returned and/or postmarked to the address below on or before FRIDAY JANUARY 25, 2008:  Completed Application with $20 application fee  Copy of drivers license and current student ID  Recommendation from current vocal teacher/coach/mentor  Personal Profile  Completed Repertoire Form  Sheet music for each selection  All materials must be submitted complete.
