Further information is available at http://lassonde.yorku.ca/ </p><p>The Department of Civil Engineering at the Lassonde School of Engineering, York University invites applications from qualified individuals for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of Civil Engineering Materials. Candidates with significant academic and/or industrial experience may be considered for appointment at the Associate Professor level. The appointment will commence on July 1, 2018, subject to budgetary approval. </p><p>We are seeking candidates with expertise in the area of Civil Engineering Materials with a particular research focus and ability to teach in one or more of the following areas: high performance concrete materials, strain-hardening cementitious composites, recycled materials, masonry, timber, sustainable materials, durability and sustainability of structural materials, rehabilitation, pavement and highway materials, and other construction materials. Experience in material-related testing is required and ability to teach courses in pavement materials and design is highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate excellence, or promise of excellence, in teaching and scholarly research.</p><p>The successful candidate must have a PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related field; be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario; and, be eligible for appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The ideal candidate will have post-doctoral and/or industrial experience and a demonstrated track record of excellence (or a clear promise of excellence) in teaching, research and professional practice. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong, externally funded research program and supervise graduate students. The successful candidate will also have the ability to participate in partnerships with industry and/or other public institutions and demonstrated expertise and leadership in teaching and curricular innovation at the undergraduate and graduate level.</p><p>York University is an Affirmative Action (AA) employer and strongly values diversity, including gender and sexual diversity, within its community.
