<p>Northside A 47 Tri North A 21</p><p>The Northside 8th Grade Girls Basketball team made a successful trip to Bloomington Monday evening, with the B team opening the two-game trip by winning 31-18, and the A team following with a 47-21 victory. The Lady Spartans improved to 9-4 overall, 7-1 for A games and 2-3 for B games, for the season. Six of nine players scored in the B game, with Alexis Todd leading the way with 11 points. Kayleigh Reed and Brooke Ballard each scored 6. The Lady Spartans opened up a 14-2 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. </p><p>After a slightly sluggish start, the Lady Spartans jump-started their offense with some impressive defense in the A game, opening up a 12-2 lead in the first quarter, and tallying double digits in all but one quarter. Macy Wingham and Sydney Anderson formed an inside-outside scoring tandem, with each tallying 10 points. Sheyanne Street was close behind with 6. 9 of 12 players scored in this game, and the Lady Spartans were 11 for 15 at the free throw line, or 73.3%.
