<p>Job Description</p><p>Post Title: Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner</p><p>Salary: £20,822.55 pro rata</p><p>Accountable to: Case Manager, Lead on Supervision and Professional Development for PWP's</p><p>Reporting to: Locality/Line Manager</p><p>Other Key Relationships: GPs, Psychological Therapists, CBT Therapists</p><p>Job Purpose The post holder will work within the IAPT service providing high volume low intensity assessments, interventions and management of caseloads. Interventions will be a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based approaches to enhance self management for clients with mild to moderate common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. </p><p>Main Duties and Responsibilities</p><p>1. Clinical</p><p>1.1. Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service. </p><p>1.2. Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to Outlook South West’s referral protocols. Refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary; or step-up the clients’ treatment to high intensity. </p><p>1.3. Assess and support people with common mental health problems in the self management of their recovery. </p><p>1.4. Undertake patient centred interviews which identify areas where the person wishes to see change or recovery and make an accurate assessment of risk to self and others. </p><p>1.5. Provide a range of information and support for evidence based high volume, low intensity psychological treatments. This may include guided self help, computerised CBT and information about pharmacological treatments. This work may be face to face, telephone or via other media. </p><p>1.6. Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered in each treatment episode. </p><p>1.7. Adhere to providing the agreed number of clinical sessions per treatment episode in a regular pattern over time in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient. </p><p>1.8. Adhere to NICE guidelines for guidance on appropriate treatment and number of appointments for individual patients; consult with supervisor regarding variation of this guidance. July 2014 1.9. Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service.</p><p>1.10. Maintain clinical data records as detailed in the document ‘IAPTus Records Compliance Requirements for all OSW Clinical Staff.’ (Available on intranet)</p><p>1.11. Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols. </p><p>1.12. Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach.</p><p>1.13. Coordination or co-facilitation of group work as required (i.e. Stress buster groups etc)</p><p>1.14. Assess and integrate issues surrounding work and employment into the overall therapy process. </p><p>2. Professional</p><p>2.1. Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to the employer and any regulating, professional and accrediting bodies (e.g. BPS, UKCP, BACP, BABCP), and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the department of health (e.g NHS plan, National Service Framework, National Institute for Clinical Excellence).</p><p>2.2. Ensure that client confidentiality is protected at all times, subject to limitations.</p><p>2.3. Be aware of, and keep up to date with advances in the spheres of CBT and other agreed psychological therapies.</p><p>2.4. Ensure clear professional objectives are identified, discussed and reviewed with senior therapists on a regular basis as part of continuing professional development.</p><p>2.5. Attend clinical/managerial supervision on a regular basis as agreed with Manager.</p><p>2.6. Participate in individual performance review and respond to agreed objectives. An annual assessment of competency in line with NICE/BABCP/IAPT requirements will be undertaken with the use of an AV recording.</p><p>2.7. Keep up to date all records in relation to C.P.D. and ensure personal development plan maintains up to date specialist knowledge of latest theoretical and service delivery models/developments.</p><p>2.8. Attend relevant conferences / workshops in line with identified professional objectives.</p><p>2.9. Attend all mandatory training and corporate update events</p><p>3. General</p><p>3.1. To contribute to the development of best practice within the service.</p><p>3.2. Respond to all reasonable requests within a timely manner</p><p>3.3. As required, work flexibly within your contract to allow for out of hours services July 2014 3.4. To fulfil any reasonable request of you in relation to the successful ongoing development of the organisation.</p><p>3.5. To maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and procedures in relation to Mental Health and Primary Care Services.</p><p>3.6. Adhere to Outlook South West’s policies, protocols and standardisation guidelines.</p><p>3.7.
