<p>Thursday, December 15, 2011</p><p>The Hemphill Independent School District Board of Education met in regular session on Thursday, </p><p>December 15, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. for a regular Board Meeting in the HISD Administration Office with the following members present: Lloyd Ford, Janis Speights, Tom Beall, Welden Elliott, Chad </p><p>Moody, Stephen Crowell, and Carolyn Wych. </p><p>Members absent: None.</p><p>Also present were Andy Trekell, Superintendent, Sally Butler, Business Manager, Kelli Barnett, Marc</p><p>Griffin, Beth McBride, Stephanie Corley, Thomas Davis, Coltin Patterson, Ellen Mills, Monica Butler, </p><p>Robert Butler, Stacee Barnett, Celine Reynolds, Brooke Butler, Carli McGarahan, Landee Barnett, </p><p>Sarah Moody, Josee Barnett, Makenna Iles, Kendi Thomas, Katie Cummings, Brittany Englishbee, </p><p>Jaxon Page, Christian Stevens, Tyler Padon, Cameron Kittman, Kelly Reynolds, Amanda Page, </p><p>Rhonda Page, Amy Stephens, Mark Stephens, Marcie Welch, Amy Cummings, Marc Cummings, </p><p>Caitlyn Iles, Jen McSweeney, Ray McSweeney, Laura Socha, Brady Welch, Kazmine Godwin, </p><p>Michelle Davis, Anthony Cordray, Lana Procella, Jared Ranniger, Don Iles, Angela Iles, Patrick </p><p>Kitman, Kyle Butler, Michelle Butler, and Kelli Webb.</p><p>Lloyd Ford, School Board President, called the meeting to order and established a quorum.</p><p>Tom Beall gave the invocation.</p><p>Lloyd Ford led the pledge to the flag.</p><p>Janis Speights recited the Hemphill ISD Mission Statement.</p><p>At this time Lloyd Ford welcomed the Elementary and Middle School Robotics students and Lana </p><p>Procella and Ellen Mills reported on the competition that the students had attended. The students were introduced and the 1st place team demonstrated their robot. 1st place team was Thomas Davis, </p><p>Coltin Patterson, and Jared Ranniger. Engineers choice award went to Josee Barnett, Makenna Iles, and Va’Kendia Thomas; 5th place team was Michelle Davis, Cameron Kittman, Celine Reynolds, and </p><p>Tommy Williams.</p><p>High School GT students participated as well, Spencer and the Angels – 2nd place Impromptu problem solving – Spencer Ince, Macie Quick, Caitlyn Iles, and Robyn Winkle; Engineer’s Award – P. J. and the three stooges – Paul Jones, Samantha Cannon, Josh Oden, and Stephanie Stevens; Honorable </p><p>Mention Engineer’s Award – V=r2 + b – Bailey Eells, Victoria Bradford, Roy Joe Harris, and Rory </p><p>Whittington.</p><p>Lloyd Ford, Board President, congratulated the students and coaches on behalf of the Board.</p><p>Richard Rudel with Alexander, Lankford, & Hiers, Inc. presented the Auditor’s Report. The auditors gave the district an excellent audit report with no exceptions.</p><p>The Board approved the minutes of the Special Board Meeting on November 10, 2011 on a motion by </p><p>Janis Speights, seconded by Tom Beall, passed unanimously. Schools that participated were Central Heights, Corrigan Camden, Hemphill, San Augustine, </p><p>Woden, and Woodville. Points were as follows: Central Heights – 545, Corrigan Camden – 282.5, </p><p>Hemphill – 920, San Augustine – 262, Woden – 668.5, and Woodville – 457</p><p>Hemphill is proud to be the 22AA Elementary and Middle School UIL Champions again this year.</p><p>Discuss meeting dates for architecture’s presentation.</p><p>Mr. Trekell will present some dates to the Board.</p><p>Mr. Trekell then presented the Superintendent’s Recommendations:</p><p>Mr. Trekell recommended approval of Board action on Localized District Policy Update 92 from TASB </p><p>Policy Service.</p><p>The Board approved Board action on Localized District Policy Update 92 from TASB Policy Service and to add, revise, or delete (Local) policies as recommended by TASB Policy Service and according to the </p><p>Instruction Sheet for TASB Localized Policy Manual Update 92 on a motion by Welden Elliott, seconded by Janis Speights, passed unanimously. Mr. Trekell recommended approval of student overnight trip requests.</p><p>The Board approved the student overnight trip requests as presented on a motion by Janis Speights, seconded by Welden Elliott, passed unanimously.</p><p>Academic UIL – Hamshire Fannett Meet – January 6 – 7, 2012</p><p>Academic UIL – Lindale Meet – January 20 – 21, 2012</p><p>No bids were received on purchasing a school van so no action was taken.</p><p>Executive Session: To discuss personnel as allowed in Gov.
