It was formed to consider the impact on diversity of the Performance Royalty legislation that is being considered in the House and Senate.

As the Federal Communications Commission is the expert agency on communications, and Performance Royalty legislation (H.R. 848 and S. 379) has been introduced in both Houses, the Task Force is looking at what, if any, the legislation’s impact might have on the Commission’s ability to carry out its duties under the Communications Act. The Task Force will continue to review available information and will report back to the Media Issues Subcommittee and the Diversity Committee as a whole, if warranted, when it has had more time to consider the issues involved.
