Bradford Ave. Placentia, CA 92870 (714) 996-4970 FAX (714) 996-3159</p><p>Valencia High School Physical Education Department Policies</p><p>Dress Code: Required dress is a plain gray t-shirt (no collars or prints), plain blue athletic shorts and tennis shoes that tie. Shoes must have an athletic sole and be closed back. Ballerina type shoes or flip flops will not be allowed. All closed must be marked with your last name. Sweats are allowed as long as they are gray, blue, yellow, gold or white.</p><p>Grading: Participation counts toward 50% of the student's overall grade. The remaining 50% consists of activity and weekly cardio run grade. Points will be taken off for absences (including excused), tardies, truancy and 4+ loaners inappropriate language, partial dress, poor participation, and use of electronic devises. </p><p>Make-ups: A student may improve their grade by making up points or cardio runs during zero period. Zero period is from 6:42 to 7:38 Tuesday through Friday. Students need to be on time, dressed and ready to go by 6:55. Make up assignments are located on each teacher’s website at vhstigers.org. Late work should be made up within two weeks of absence for credit. </p><p>Loaners: Students may check out loaner clothes Three times per semester. If a student checks out more than three loaners per semester, points will be deducted and detention will be given. Parents will be called if loaners become an issue.</p><p>Non-suits or refusal to wear loaners:</p><p>If a student does not come prepared to class in their physical education clothes/ uniform and refuses to use loaner clothes, action will include one or more of the following:</p><p>Incident 1 Warning, Loss of participation points</p><p>Incident 2 Loss of participation points, Teacher assigned detention</p><p>Incident 3 Loss of participation points, Parent contact, Saturday School</p><p>Incident 4 Loss of participation points, Parent conference, Saturday School</p><p>Incident 5 Loss of participation points, Parent contact, Saturday School, Behavior Contract</p><p>PE Lockers: PE lockers are for the storage of PE clothes and valuables during class time. Do not give out your combination. Locker rooms will be locked during class time.</p><p>Electronic Devises: Electronic devises are not allowed during class time and will be subject to the School Electronic Devises Policy in the student handbook.</p><p>Medicals: Students are allowed three Parent Notes each semester. Students are required to dress out on those days but they are exempt from participation. Only one parent note may be used on run days. Doctor Medicals are for the length the doctor says and must also be stated on the note when the student may begin participation and with what restrictions or limitations, if any. Only a note from a licensed medical physician or a nurse practitioner will be accepted. A doctor note requires the student to complete a written assignment for each day in lieu of participation. </p><p>Stadium: Only water is allowed inside the stadium.
