<p> BETTYE MYERS MIDDLE SCHOOL PE RULES</p><p>● Every student will begin with ‘100’ points each week. In order to maintain 100 points each week, students must dress out and participate daily. Penalties, for not dressing out and for not participating, will be ten (10) points each per day.</p><p>● Every student must dress out daily and all clothing must comply with the BMMS dress code policy. Failure to comply will be treated as a ‘no-dress’, and ten (10) points will be deducted from his/her weekly grade. </p><p>PE ATTIRE: RED, NAVY OR GREY T-SHIRT; RED, NAVY, OR SILVER SHORTS; NON-MARKING ATHLETIC SHOES (laced and tied)</p><p>● No jewelry, including earrings, is allowed during class. Students are responsible for locking up their valuables before leaving the locker room. All students are required to use school-issued PE lockers. BMMS and its coaches are not responsible for any lost or stolen articles. Once lockers are assigned, students may not switch or share lockers.</p><p>●A note to your student’s PE teacher should be submitted for any and all new ear piercings.</p><p>● No phones allowed in gym area and locker rooms. BMMS gym area and locker rooms are 'No Phone Zones'. This will be strictly enforced.</p><p>● A parent note is required if a student is injured or ill, and will excuse the student for two (2) days. Any student needing to sit out for more than two days will need a doctor’s excuse stating how many days to sit out and the nature of the injury or illness. The student will be required to participate in class through written assignments related to PE curriculum. Students are allowed three (3) parent notes per semester.</p><p>● No screaming, running or horseplay will be tolerated in the dressing areas. This is for all students’ safety.</p><p>● There will be absolutely no gum, food or drinks allowed in the locker room or gym areas.</p><p>DAILY PROCEDURES: 1. GO TO ASSIGNED DRESSING ROOM TO GET DRESSED. 2. ON COMMAND, ENTER THE GYM QUIETLY (NO RUNNING). 3. GO TO ASSIGNED SEAT AND REMAIN QUIET. 4. TEACHER WILL GIVE CLASS INSTRUCTIONS. 5. AFTER PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, RETURN TO ASSIGNED SEAT. 6.
