<p> Racial Justice Training Institute: Part 2 Onsite</p><p>Day 1 – Tuesday, June 27, 2017</p><p>Schedule Session Description 9:00 – 10:00 Welcome, context & keynote. Introduces goals of the RJTI onsite training, the context in which the training is taking place, plus a roadmap for how the training and follow-up activities will unfold. 10:00 – Introductions. Participants introduce themselves to each other individually and 11:15 through racial equity teams. 11:15 – Break 11:30 11:30 – Social Cognition & Implicit Bias. Provides a further review of the science of 12:30 social cognition & implicit bias; cohort members reflect on experiences with IATs. 12:30 – 1:30 Lunch 1:30 – 2:30 Social Cognition & Implicit Bias cont’d 2:30 – 3:00 Walk & Talk 3:00 – 5:30 Understanding Structural Racialization: Through video, individual reflection and discussion, we will further explore the four levels of structural racialization -- internal, interpersonal, institutional and structural – and how awareness of these can be used to guide both our external advocacy and internal organizational structures. 5:30 – 6:30 Reception Dinner – on your own – with other cohort members</p><p>RJTI 2017 – onsite – pg. 1 Racial Justice Training Institute: Part 2 Onsite Day 2 – Wednesday, June 28, 2017</p><p>Schedule Session Description 8:45 - 9:00 Welcome, Reflections & Day 2 Overview 9:00 – 11:00 Social Cognition & Implicit Bias: Priming & Debiasing. Examines implicit bias within organizations and advocacy forums and explores proven strategies for debiasing. 11:00 – Break 11:15 11:15 – Racially Equitable Policy Advocacy. Introduces tools to assess existing and 12:45 proposed policies and legislation through a race-equity lens. 12:45 – 1:45 Lunch 1:45 – 3:00 New Directions in Civil Rights Litigation and Advocacy: Follows up on issues addressed through Week 3 Webinar 6 and presents case examples from various practitioners’ experiences. 3:00 – 3:30 Walk & Talk 3:30 – 5:30 Work-shopping Cases/Campaigns. This session provides an opportunity to apply systems analysis and racial equity strategies and tools to selected issues identified by cohort members during Online Week 3. 5:30 – 5:40 Day Two Evaluation 6:00 Dinner on your own – with other cohort members </p><p>RJTI 2017 – onsite – pg. 2 Racial Justice Training Institute: Part 2 Onsite Day 3 – Thursday, June 29, 2017</p><p>Schedule Session 9:00 – 9:15 Reflections on day 2, Overview of Day 3 9:15 – 10:30 Selecting & Developing Issue Campaigns. Introduces suggested criteria to use in 90’ selecting racial equity issues to address; also provides opportunity to use strategy development tools for individual team’s racial equity initiatives. 10:30 – Break 10:45 10:45 – Selecting & Developing Issue Campaigns. Equity Teams use “strategic planning” 12:00 and “Campaign Timeline” worksheets to develop initial plans to move their 75’ racial equity initiatives forward. 12:00 – 1:00 Lunch 1:00 – 5:15 Framing & Communication. Provides an overview of steps in crafting a 3:00 – break communication plan with focus on framing and message development; also includes presentation on public opinion research suggesting strategies for framing issues of race. Includes opportunity to practice framing and message development. 5:15 – 5:30 Day Three wrap-up </p><p>RJTI 2017 – onsite – pg. 3 Racial Justice Training Institute: Part 2 Onsite Day 4 – Friday, June 30, 2017</p><p>Schedule Session 8:45 – 9:15 Reflections & Evaluation of Day 3; Overview Day 4 9:15 -10:30 Leadership & Organizational Change. Provides review of leadership needed to align organizations to prioritize and support racial equity work. 10:30 – Break 10:45 10:45-12:00 Equity Teamwork. Teams meet to begin initial planning for equity team projects. 12:00 – Lunch 12:45 12:45 -1:45 Sharing Team Plans.
