Job Details:</p><p>Job Title: Trading Controller Division: Blakemore Trade Partners Department: Trading Responsible To: Senior Trading Controller 2. Job Purpose:  To maximise sales, cash margin, percentage gross profit and revenue from suppliers for Blakemore Trade Partners and all company owned stores within defined commodity groups</p><p>3. Key Tasks / Responsibilities:  Deliver annual sales, profit and supplier income in line with agreed budgets for assigned categories  Agree and document joint business plans (JBP’s) with all key suppliers, to include promotional plans, target turnover and supplier income using agreed documentation  Negotiate favourable buying terms with suppliers, increased levels of supplier income from the supply base and the delivery of a planned programme of promotional activity  The control of product pricing policies both at wholesale and retail level  The control of all departmental administrative systems and procedures  Demonstrate best practice supplier management techniques  Interpreting appropriate market research activity, and recommending actions for improvement  Meeting agreed timescales and deadlines with regard to internal and external trading information, reports and documentation  Contribute to the management of company stock to include limiting stock holding and minimise stock markdowns 4. Financial Responsibilities:  Assisting with the creation of cost/sales budgets and working within these financial constraints 5. Generic Responsibilities  Ensure compliance with all aspects of “The Blakemore Way” and appropriate levels of the Competency Framework  Maintain employee and organisational confidentiality in line with Data Protection Act  Demonstrate commitment to Equality and Diversity  Comply with Health and Safety responsibilities in line with the company Health, Safety & Environmental Policy  Comply with all other policy and legal requirements in relation to role 6. Other: </p><p>This job description describes the main responsibilities of the post holder but is not intended to cover in detail all the tasks required of the post. The post holder may be required to carry out other duties as requested by management; however these will not be unreasonable and will be appropriate to the level of post. As circumstances change, responsibilities may be amended to reflect new requirements of the post but levels of responsibility and the nature of duties will remain consistent. The post holder will be fully consulted on any significant changes.</p><p>On occasions the post holder will be required to work away from designated work place which may involve staying away from home as and when required in accordance with the needs of the business.
