<p>Dedicated Internet Access - Benefits & Features </p><p>Dedicated Internet access (DIA) is a non-tariff, non-regulated network service that provides CenturyLink customers commercial-grade access to the Internet. It is always on and supports Web hosting and other popular Internet business activities. The service is transported over traditional telephony network including frame relay, asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) and private line making DIA not distance-sensitive in relationship to speed and performance characteristics, offering synchronous up-stream and down- stream performance. </p><p>DIA is a standard-based service and compatible with all commercial networks' customer premises equipment (CPE) manufactured by Cisco, Lucent, Nortel and other data network vendors. Because the services are offered over traditional commercial network services - frame relay, ATM and private line, DIA results in a stronger value proposition to customers and additional dollars for CenturyLink with pull-through revenues. </p><p>Companies with local area networks (LANs) are prime candidates for DIA. The service is usually the best method to connect users on a LAN to the Internet. Dedicated connections allow any of the LAN users to share a single connection to the Internet. </p><p>Customers conducting any of the following activities require DIA: </p><p>Employees use the Internet frequently Internet used for conducting business activities and function Communicate via e-mail documents including presentations, spreadsheets and reports On-line research </p><p>DIA is available in 17 in-territory markets (not available in Wyoming) serving selected locations. Transort mediums for DIA include frame relay, ATM and ethernet. Bandwidth and Internet port speeds vary by market. Contact product management for details. </p>
