<p>JUDSON RITTER</p><p>Judson Ritter, familiarly known as “Jud”, died Monday morning at the Elkhart county infirmary, where he has been since August.</p><p>He was born in Madison township on August 18, 1879, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ritter. On Feb 5, 1905, he married Rhoda Holdeman, Newton, Kans. He was a barber at Newton for two years before coming to Wakarusa, were he worked at his trade until forced to retire in 1931 by illness from arthritis and rheumatism. His son, Harold, died March 23, 1933, and his wife died about 18 months ago.</p><p>He leaves a granddaughter, Beverly Ritter, aged 9, of Elkhart; three sisters, Mrs. Mark Johnson of Elkhart, Mrs. Jacob Swarm of Wakarusa and Mrs. Sarah Balden of Lawton, Mich., and three brothers, Walter and Albert of Lawton, Mich , and Reuben of Flint, Mich</p><p>For many years Mr. Ritter was a barber in Wakarusa and had many friends, because of having a jovial desposition. He worked many days when he suffered great pain, yet he never complained Rather inclined to look on the sunny side of life For seven years he was a helpless invalid, ever cheerful and hopeful. He was a next door neighbor of the editor and wife for a number of years and we never heard him speak evil of anyone and was thankful for any favor shown him</p><p>The funeral services were held from the First Christian church, Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, the pastor Rev. Gordon Kemble officiating. The pallbearers were the same as those used at Mrs. Ritter’s funeral. Burial in Olive.</p><p>March 3, 1938</p>
